I think big bases are good because they not only give a greater scope for modelling, but also because they reduce the problems associated with distorted ground scales, This is a particular problem in MSH which I play, because fire is conducted base to base, so there is every incentive to cram your combat elemnst as close together as possible (concentration of force) and no disincentive (because, with a couple of exceptions, artilley doesn't target multiple bases at once).Luke Ueda-Sarsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02004840067785236764noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8564532820444629020.post-77968963123338866802017-01-07T16:47:09.418-08:002017-01-07T16:47:09.418-08:00I look forward to seeing them!I look forward to seeing them!Luke Ueda-Sarsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02004840067785236764noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8564532820444629020.post-22753376964435258532017-01-07T14:49:39.807-08:002017-01-07T14:49:39.807-08:00They look great! You can see just a few here (very low resolution photos, unfortunately - this was the 90s!) There were made from balsa wood for the hulls; if I recall correctly, the sails were made by draping two sheets of wet paper around a cylinder, and allowing them to dry gleed together. The ones in the photos there were actually mde by Rhys Batchelor, not myself. The sails of the nefs really need to be angled away from the line of travel.

Luke Ueda-Sarsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02004840067785236764noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8564532820444629020.post-76155707415809623632016-01-30T12:55:01.511-08:002016-01-30T12:55:01.511-08:00Bonjour

Most systems often just record off-table artillery batteries on paper, for example, but I like the models sitting their behind the baseline representing a proper artillery park.
No reason why I can't use trucks to represent "logistic/activation points" for example - I could see a system (in a multiplayer game, especially) where you say start with X number "in the bank", and get some smaller "Y" number per turn, on average, and how many you spend is up to you. Xs would be with your HQ. Ys might even have to spend turns moving up the table even, to represent your logistic tail, where they might be vulnerable to interdiction.Luke Ueda-Sarsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02004840067785236764noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8564532820444629020.post-41794468323455995852015-12-09T15:34:29.265-08:002015-12-09T15:34:29.265-08:00As in one-to-one scale?
